Giving Tuesday 2025

Give Hope to Ammar This Giving Tuesday

Help Provide a Prosthetic Arm for a Brave 10-Year-Old Landmine Survivor

At just 10 years old, Ammar Husain Abdullah Saif was playing with a friend when he picked up what looked like an ordinary piece of plastic. In an instant, it exploded. The blast— from what turned out to be an explosive remnant of war (ERW)—took Ammar’s left arm and caused severe internal injuries.

Ammar’s family had already been displaced by Yemen’s ongoing conflict, forced to flee their home in Yousfeen to seek safety in the Al Quabbaitah District. Like thousands of displaced children, Ammar was surrounded by unfamiliar terrain where landmines and ERWs blend into everyday life, disguising themselves as harmless objects. Tragically, children are among the most vulnerable.

Today, Ammar is fighting to heal, return to school, and reclaim his childhood. But to take his next step forward, he needs your help.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity—a moment each year when people around the world come together to do good and make a tangible difference. It reminds us that the holiday season is not only about exchanging gifts, but about uplifting communities and transforming lives.

As you consider the many important causes to support this year, we invite you to stand with MLI and make a direct, life-changing impact. Your Giving Tuesday donation will help provide Ammar with a prosthetic arm, restoring mobility, confidence, and hope for his future.
